World Cup AdSense Slump?

In couple of days, the FIFA world cup will start, now most of the websites with only US traffic won’t feel anything, but internationally speaking, a huge drop in traffic is expected, most of the Europeans, South Americans, Asians, Middle Eastern, Africans and this year even Australians will have one thing on their mind for one month, the world cup!

Huge drop in traffic = huge drop in Adsense income!

No dispersions about anyone, and we webmasters are the worst in believing the Internet, per se, has a vendetta against us...

The reality is that, even in death, life continues, since for 99.999r% that event has no meaning to someone else.

Prior to the advent of 24 hour TV then the Net, not many gave a damn about problems elsewhere in the world. Now with instant TV and Net coverage their attitudes have not changed much, only their knowledge of that is has actually happened sooner than they would otherwise have known!

Cynical? Maybe.

Honest/realistic? Probably.

Right, back on track...I do not understand why German AdSensers are suffering so much unless they are going through my recent scenario.

I have posted here many, many times that my figures suffer before anyone else's unless they are on the same server..."urchin" it's called!

It just "has to be" the main test piece of kit.

larryhatch: housewifes and other people who are not interested in football had enough: if TV set is busy showing football, they went for a next entertainment/news source - The Internet! :) at least I think so, looking at my stats where 80% visitors are from UK - fri/sat down, big surge up in a last few days...

maybe because the world cup happens to be in germany?
optirex, you don't need to understand that. simply accept, that webmasters suffer explicable stats declines whereas your sites aren't affected.

and the weekend was pretty hard for us because of the world cup summer slump. everyone was out on the streets and/or watching tv. don't try to compare the biggest sports event of the world to minor other events. in my stats it shows clearly, that it is a remarkable factor (sites are not directly sports related).

by the way, ever thought of that german sites are written in, hum.. german? we have a specific explicitly defined audience.
