First of all, I congratulate everyone for their success with Adsense program. I also congratulate myself for endless hours that I spent designing my website, experimenting with ad placements, enriching content and user experience, etc.
There are many successful publishers on this forum, many of them earning tens of thousands dollars every month. The question is - are there any millionaires?
Has anyone reached a million yet?
To start with, you're asking 2 different things. Earning a million dollars over the course of 2 or 3 years won't (in itself) make you anything close to a millionaire.
I respectfully disagree. If you are able to earn and save 1 million dollars in a course of 2-3 years - you ARE a millionaire.
Anyway, gross AdSense income and actual earnings from AdSense are also different things.
Offices, staff, pretty heavy duty servers, advertising budgets and so on eat up a lot of gross income, more so on large and busy than on small sites - they are unlikely to be run on cheap servers by someone in a home office.
There are probably many sites that have that sort if income in well less than a year, but it has no real meaning in isolation. Someone with a fraction of that income could have more profit and a fatter bank account at in the end of it.

Actually, the term traditionally refers to a person's net worth.
I honestly don't think someone can reach that amount, say in a year alone with adsense. If we're talking about companies, yes there are some that earn more than that in a year through adsense. Weblogs Inc. is one of them.
Interesting thing about Weblogs Inc. Their CEO is Jason McCabe Calacanis. Somebody bought domain www.jason-calacanis.com and spammed the internet on his behalf and made fun out of him. I guess, it's possible to make $1,000,000.00 - all you need is rich content and high quality traffic (lots of it).
You need to earn about $2.5 Mil to end up with one in the bank over that time period. Between taxes, work expenses and living, money goes fast.
everyone relax.
i have not made close to that (i've just started). it'd be nice to make that much, but it'd be even nicer if someone on here who makes alot of money and is experienced could share their experiences or the #'s of page views, uniques, revenue they have hit.
it gives people motivation when they hear people say they've made X amount during their time using adsense. that is the point of this. does anyone have anything relevant to share?
Just answer Toldan's question:
WHO ON THIS FORUM MAKES A MILLION A YEAR WITH ADSENSE?
Regardless of how much is ending up in your pocket.
And if no one is making a million:
who is making half a million a year?
For god's sake there must be someone here who wants to brag about it!
(mods: sorry for the caps)
Get motivated, you only need to make about $2,800 per day, which could be as easy as 547 web sites making as little as $5/day each which kind of gives you an idea of what makes scraping so theoretically lucrative.
If making a million with AdSense was so easy, EVERYONE would do it.
Heck, I would be happy if I start making 100k/year 10 years from now. With the way the economy is going now and medical care costs spiraling our of control you just can't depend on your regular salary to take care of all your needs anymore.

Damn...I've been sussed!
the portion of revenues shared with Google's partners, increased to $629 million in the fourth quarter
i assume that a significant portion of this revenue is associated with partners. the remaining amount is what all the rest of us get. since there is vast number of publishers there, is only room for a handful that are making a million in revenue (if they exist).
Marcus,Meaning what?
Meaning you make a million a year?
Or some friend told you that a friend of a friend...
markus007 is well-known amongst older WebmasterWorld members and lurkers as being one of the more...ahem...prolific earners:-)
He has written some very interesting posts in the past.

I was making 7 digits/year before I had any full-time help, so it definitely can be done (but I've been doing it full-time for years). Web publishing is one of the few business areas where it is possible, however I probably should've started getting more help earlier. You're not going to get many answers to threads like this because there are just no great reasons to answer - how does motivating others help me?
how does motivating others help me?
I don't feel it does motivate many others, possibly the inquisitive few who would most probably do it anyway, since many simply refuse to believe it to be true and then there are those who do believe it but lack the wherewithal to achieve it.
It's like living in a small town and everyone there thinking they know all about your business and personal life when, in actual fact, they know nothing!
The funny thing is that I do actually live in a small market town of 18,000 population and the family name is extremely well-known. I left the family business 25 years ago yet mention my name and everyone thinks I own it and refuse to believe me when I tell them otherwise.
Are they prepared to believe I have an international bricks and mortar business in Brazil, China, India, Italy and a few other countries?
No!
Why? Because their preconceived notions consider it's not possible for someone like me to do it, it's the impossible dream to them, something only someone else does...the ones they read about in the tabloids, that's their reality.
Anyone mention Big Brother? Yuck!
So no, let's keep all the naysayers happy and tell them it's not possible to earn a million with Adsense, then they'll have their doubts confirmed.
