First of all, I congratulate everyone for their success with Adsense program. I also congratulate myself for endless hours that I spent designing my website, experimenting with ad placements, enriching content and user experience, etc.
There are many successful publishers on this forum, many of them earning tens of thousands dollars every month. The question is - are there any millionaires?

It's been answered over and over again however no one is going to give a freebie solution since there is not one other than to say, yes, it can, and has been, done.
1. Code a really cool site.
2. Optimise to be #1 for over 10,000 popular keywords
3. Get major traffic from all search engines.
4. Layout adsense ads
5. Get 1 million dollars with a "laser".

I know if I ever made a million a year off of adsence I would still post/lurk around here. Everything I have learned has been because of here. Thats not saying much ATM but I have 3 sites up and I only started in December. 1 of them already ranks number 1 for it some keywords. I also know this is what I want to do because of people on here.
If someone shares this information with you they are lying. If they keep it to themselves, it's so as not to draw jealous attention or copycats to themselves.
Think about it. If you were a millionairre, would you want to brag about it to strangers on the Internet? The consequences could be only negative.

I've cashed out lots of Silicon Valley stock options in my days yet we still drive medium priced cars and shack up in the same old condo.

Based on the topic of this thread I qualify as long as the word "AdSense" is removed as that's just become a replacement income so far.

a million dollars isn't quite what it used to be. if you are on either of the coasts of the continental US, a million in the bank is no more than a nice start.
So, the biggest key to making 1M/year with Adsense or whatever? BELIEVE you can do it, or you never will....

Reading message boards and learning from successful people and the way the operate was a major reason I was able to go from a few bucks a month to making 20k in about 2 months. Although I was already in the right direction when I was only making a few bucks it took other messages on these boards to open my eyes to things I never thought of. I’m sure many of you can relate to getting tunnel vision with regards to building your websites you love so much….
It’s very possible to build a website that makes a million dollars a year and the ones making millions may not post what they make but they do post messages…..

Each click usually is from $0.03 to $2.00. Let's assume averge $0.6 per click(I think this is still high) You need to have have at least 4630 clicks/day
If CTR is 1.5%. You need at least 308667 views on your site each day.
I don't know much sites can have 0.3M traffic everyday other than search engine.
300,000 pageviews a day is really not that much. I've got two sites that achieve that, and they're just personal hobby sites. then again, I tend to get maybe 5 to 10 cents a click on those two sites... :)
and I'm talking pageviews, not ad impressions.
I don't even work on these sites anymore.
personally, I these two sites for me are just high traffic, low quality. but that doesn't me it can't be done in other niches-- hell, if I was more motivated, I'm sure I'd be getting that much traffic in profitable niches.

I mean anyone could be a millionaire if they wanted. How many spams can you send out, how many banks can you rob, how many porn sites can you put up, how much viagra?
That's a reason you'll never make it as you don't think it can be done without sliding down the slippery slope to the dark side of the internet and that's just not true.
Anyone with solid search engine marketing skills can pull it off the old fashioned organic way IMO and those without patience can spend some money and do it via arbitrage.
If you can imagine it's possible you can probably make it happen.
If you can't, ah well, then you won't.

Hey, I didn't say it would be easy! I'm definetly nowhere near that amount. But do I think there are other companies and individuals making 3c/second? Definetly! That's only $108/hour (the price of one IT consultant - yes I know, at 24 hr/day and 365 days/year).
So if you were a small web development company employing 10 people you'd better be pulling in at least 1'000'000/year just to pay your basic expenses. Are there any 10-person companies getting most of their revenues from adsense? Are there any smart individuals with good scripts or niche content pulling in 7 figures? I would think so.
Folks making a mill or so a year, a good amount, doing adsense/affiliate type stuff (i really dont see much distinction there - ads are ads). This level is no doubt the exception BUT you can't walk 10 steps at a pubcon without bumping into an "armchair millionaire" :)

It is a bit insulting as a pro marketer/traffic guy to not be classified as a real business. Personally, I work out of my home office as i am afraid of the public and what they will say about my funny bathrobe, however, we have plenty of help as a company and at times I even consider us "real"....uncle sam sure as hell does :(

It's not that you said it was easy, it is more like what is known as 'fools math' (not you), e.g. Let's sell umbrellas in china, making 10 cent an umbrella profit and selling 1 million umbrella a year to a population of 1500 million, that's one in 1,500 will buy our product, and 10 cent profit, that's reasonable right?
No, because it does not take into account how you can deliver and sell one million umbrellas and if it rains in china in the first place.
