First of all, I congratulate everyone for their success with Adsense program. I also congratulate myself for endless hours that I spent designing my website, experimenting with ad placements, enriching content and user experience, etc.
There are many successful publishers on this forum, many of them earning tens of thousands dollars every month. The question is - are there any millionaires?
Has anyone reached a million yet?
I don't feel it does motivate many others
Right, just saying that one makes over a mil/year doesn't do much, but other bigger webmasters could have a lot more information out there, that could allow some determined people to figure out their sites, their subjects, or even just their business models, and who needs extra competition? Getting info from other sources would be easier for them, but why even take a chance?
Unless someone is interested in using this forum to advertise for some reason (like selling some e-book), there simply are not that many good reasons to answer to threads such as this. Bragging rights? Somehow a bunch of geeky guys sitting in front of their computers in their underwear is not my idea of a fan club :)
I know affiliate millionaires.
I know people that have or are making $10K a day doing stuff smiliar to adsense that have no "offices" per say.
It is rare.
Adsense itself - I know less people in this space, but I know several people making 10k+ a month with corporations only set up for legal reasons.

Hehehe...you mean you don't have a Victoria's Secret as your wallpaper:-))
Think about all the webmistresses out there, some very successful ones...
I have my own team and full-time staff to reach 300 a month. To get money doesn't mean to have benefit.
You do not have a very good business model if you require a team of staff to make $300 per month.
There are many here earning that per day, doing part-time in between coffee breaks.
More sites could work too but I can get more tangible results quickly (within a week) just optimizing and leveraging my existing site more and more.
The problem is some very high traffic areas don't get a lot of clicks and some very high click areas don't get a lot of traffic, nor would they ever as certain things are just too much of a niche. When you already rank in the top 10 for those niches you probably have about the best shot anyone has of snaring that traffic so optimizing them further is a dead end road - that's when you just sell ads direct on the pages to squeeze a little more blood out of that turnip.
FYI, certain niches like my wifes site makes a trickle of AdSense but does bang-up business with affiliates.
Anyway, that's fodder for another thread.

That's an over simplification of how millions are made, topic plays a role, but not as much as traffic.
While topic among other things plays into the earnings per click, given ANY legal topic and millions or even hunders of thouthands of daily unique visitors, you are bound to make it big, one way or the other, AdSense or not..
As for fishing out popular topics, its not that much of an issue, take
Alexa's top 3,000 sites, and start digging..
What makes you millions is the amount of investment you are willing to make
in the right topic, then your commitment to growing your site popularity and
staying on top of popular trends.
I have a feeling some here take it like the jackpot, lucky topic, lucky
traffic, lucky millions, it doesn't work that way, its a lot of work, and
investment like any other business.
And no, I am not a millionaire (yet)
Granted, we should all continue to work hard and strive for our goals, but some folks need to see/hear success stories.
As for the responses from millionaires, I'm not one so I can't really comment on it! :)
Reaching a high five or low six figure income is more common, but it takes time. One of the problems of many starters is impatience I think. To earn much you'll need lots of visitors and unless you have a superb idea it will probably take months or even years before you'll start earning big.
I know at least one guy who has that amount of visitors/day, but no ADS at all.
The more people they hear about those who have actually reached 1 million, the more inspired they feel to continue.
that is precisely why any adsense millionaires (if they exist) are not going to say anything. if they did, all they would be doing is creating a legion of inspired webmasters trying to reverse engineer their success.
Going from $50/day to $100/day at first seemed almost impossible, but once if happened hitting $200/day seemed trivial. The problem is when you hit what you think is a threshold you can't cross is getting past that mental barrier stopping you from going to the next level.
To be honest, some of my best AdSense ideas that have helped get me to the next level happen sitting on the porcelain throne or while taking a shower.

Note to self: Remodel the bathroom. Gonna be spending a lot more time in there, apparently. :-)
But seriously, folks: No, I haven't made anywhere near a million yet, BUT, the amount I have made, just from dabbling and not taking it seriously, indicates that it's possible.
Definitely the chances are much better than those for the lottery.

"followers", and so long as I am not "following", well, that makes me a leader and being a leader means you stay ahead of the pack.
Some folks just want to know that they're not slaving over their keyboards for $10/day, with no chance of attaining more. (Of course I would take $10/day in a heartbeat. Money is money!)
