Yower, SEMRush is freaking out. A few of the other sensors seem to be spiking too.

I think this just adds somehow to their advertising and $$ grab.

Absolutely, when people click on links and it leads to rubbish, even when researching and not in a buying mode, they are very likely to click on an adlink .. Win-win for G and probably quite often for their advertisers.

Only by using DDG / Bing / Another does one realise how cluttered and awful G's presentation is.

As a Brit I wish DDG / Bing could make their results a bit more accurate, like G they both seem to filter in the same USA sites for UK queries which can be darned annoying.

Lighthouse in chrome is having problems again, my sites were scoring 97% performance yesterday now way down in the orange, checked other peoples sites and everyone's been downgraded according to chrome lighthouse, no one in the green for anything. Possible bug with lighthouse?

@saladtosser Are you using Lighthouse in Chrome incognito mode (No toolbar extensions enabled)? Sometimes the extensions cause the website audit results to be inaccurate.

So parts of this update are not ready and there is also will be a July Core update. IMO throughout May they have been "testing" these updates live.

Hopefully it is not to much of a rollercoaster ride (or at least one that only goes up).

Will probably be the only core update(s) of 2021.

It will be make or break for a lot of sites.

Sites previously hit and not recovering now will pretty much guaranteed be dead by next year. There's only so much you can wait. Unfortunately many pure legit sites also get hit by these changes.

I really don't care about core updates anymore. They will push priority sites, their own platforms and instant answers/widgets. There is nothing we can do technically to our sites to change that.

May 29-30-31, I had a huge traffic record. Yesterday and today returned to normal.

In semrush I had big fluctuations for several days in may.

Main global site all but stopped with traffic, UK localised hotel site about to overtake it ! WTF ?

It's nothing less than a total insult when #1 is a Pinterest page scraping my images and text, ffs!

I saw a big sudden surge in real USA and UK traffic from 9am-12pm today, during which time I had two new leads... then right back down. I'm exactly 28% down in USA, UK, and Australia traffic today...Canada is at zero visits today. Overall searches down 19%, direct traffic down 34%. I do hope that this isn't the update!

So what this pattern continues to confirm is Google core search PR just isn't trust worthy on this stuff or they just don't know what is going within the company.

@Brett Tabke I agree, this update started almost two weeks ago with some blaringly obvious changes in traffic patterns. Google is announcing the updates long after they are actually occurring

Changes in traffic in the days leading up to a core update seems pretty normal to me. It's what I've observed on my own websites before the madness begins just after the core update goes live.

Seems either not actually live yet or the bulk of it hasn't rolled out yet.

December was also wild for 2 weeks, so the big hit can still come.

Would be weird not to be truthful with this since it's such a specific statement and so easy to verify what actually happens.

I just think this one is either a very slow rollout or it actually hasn't started really rolling out yet.

I feel we will start seeing the actual rollout today early business hours USA time. It was very late yesterday when they said it's rolling put, perhaps they delayed it for today in the end or something.

Edit: But yeah, I do agree with you that the bigger impact will be in July probably. They said they haven't finished something they were working on, so they do another update in July. So I assume that new thing they are still working on will be what will have the biggest impact.
