Hi everybody,
I intend to add videos to the landing pages of a small site. Every page will get one video.

It is recommended to collect all videos at one certain folder or subdomain. Makes sense.

But why and how could it be worth to create real visitor "pages", not only technical locations? May be as overview and introduction of all videos, with a short description of every video.

Can it rank for its own, improve internal linking or may there be visitors who want to watch all videos on one place, without navigating through the site? What advantages or disadvantages for me and the visitors may it have to create real visitor pages instead of pure technical locations on the webserver?

Thanks,

How many pages/videos are you talking about? Am I understanding this right that (from your first sentence) that you are wondering whether to add videos to existing pages or whether to create one separate landing pages for all videos?

Is video useful for the visitor of the existing page? If so, this may be the place to add it. Having one landing page for all videos together with overview and intro may also be useful - and I presume that from that video landing page there will be a link next to each video to the relevant existing page (the page where you would put video if you do not create separate video landing page)?

Have you considered doing both - having video on each page as well as having a separate dedicated page for all videos?

The site won't have more than about 20 videos.

I actually intend to do both: Adding a specific and relevant video to every already existing textbased landing page, same topic of course. And creating ADDITIONALLY a separate page for all videos at one place, collecting all videos there.

The question is, if and how this could be a good idea. A good idea for the user and me. This may include the possibility of the separate video collection page to rank at Google. But this is not the only consideration.

It may be not a good idea to place all videos a second time on the collecting page. Every video should have a unique Url, so I see two ways: Just linking from the collecting page to the landing pages, where the videos are. Or creating a second version of every video. These could placed then directly on the collecting page. The second versions could be, as you suggest, short intros.
