Now if you search for "artist-name songs" in Google a new carousel-like entity is there (but a different look and feel). Just click on any song, you will see the youtube video in bigger view.

This is very interesting - it is almost like bringing YouTube interface into ordinary Google search. It looks quite similar to YouTube and a visitor may almost forget where they are.

I am seeing it on google.com and google.co.uk, but not on other country-specific googles.

To clarify - search for the artist name followed by the word "songs" and you get this interface. Click on any song within the carousel and the big youtube video of the song appears below it.

handy for the user, definitely. but also a pretty good example of google favouring it's own content. every single song i clicked on seems to display a YouTube video

I couldn't seem to find the Add to Cart button so I can add the song to Google Drive and play on my Google Android device while Google is driving my car for me. How inconvenient!

I always assumed that a lot of Youtube songs were infringing copyright. I don't think they're filtering these results to only show videos that have been authorised by the copyright holders (unless they're using some pretty bizarre user names).
