Hi, I once used to run a site with top 10 ranking for low volume keywords, however unfortunately the site was offline for 1 year.(domain taken over by someone)

During this entire time the domain was parked and the content had been offline, would it ever be possible to gain the rankings for those keywords back again if the original content on the domain is put online ? (without SEO campaigning)

Suggestions anybody :?

Anything is possible!

When you say you would put the original content online, are you saying you have regained the domain and would put it back there.. or are you planning to place the same content on a new domain?

If you are putting it back on the original domain, it is possible that you may recover your rankings, but you will have to do make some efforts to get the site respidered and regain any trust you have lost. It is quite possible/likely that the domain lost links during its downtime and/or that Google devalued those links and your domain due to it being offline for an extended period.

If you have regained the domain, I would certainly place the content back, do a refresh where possible on the content so it is better, and then spend a month or two setting up authorship and other strategies to bring attention to it again.

Yes to "regained the domain and would put it back there" or yes to "are you planning to place the same content on a new domain?"
