traffic down by 50% - webmaster tools show no changes in serps

Hi guys,

I am in doubt on how to interpret these data: I am suffering from a sharp drop in traffic since beginning of July (holiday season). Some sites have lost half the traffic.
According to google webmaster tools I still rank at the top - the same as before the drop, but the impressions are down by a lot and click through rate just a little.

The way I see it is that there are 2 possibilities:
- a lot of people are just not going online these days because of the good weather - the same happened last year but to a much lesser extent
- google is not showing my keywords in the serps for some people, I am not sure if this actually happens
Anyone any thoughts on this?

Should i worry or will this pass?

I've been seeing stuff like this - in my case, a more gradual decline. I cannot figure it out, but no, it doesn't pass. My response has been to assume Google just isn't where my audience is finding sites anymore and focus on the social media sites where I CAN build traffic.

Webmaster tools started showing web results by default when they launched their new image search layout. Change it back to both web and image traffic and then to images only to see if you lost only image traffic.
