Bad backlinks are helping.disavow or leave alone?

I've been spammed by thousands of backlinks with bad keywords like Viagra ans so on...

My PR increased to PR4, traffic is up, it actually seems like it's fixing my Penguin penalty...

Should I disavow these thousands of bad links or leave them alone?

I've had no warning from Google or nothing...

What is going on?

well, I don't have an answer, but it sure seems like a good test to run on a throwaway domain that has been penguinized...

How do you know these particular links are fixing your Penguin penalty? Or that you even have a Penguin penalty?

I was penalized for keyword rich anchor text (what Google used to recommend...)

The site was hit by the first Penguin update.

Now 120 000 links all from crap with wrong keywords...and Google seems to be liking it because the keywords have nothing to do with the subject matter of my site.

I rank for relevant terms, but also for Viagra and stuff like that...;(

The idiocy of Google never seizes to amaze me...

But anyways...should I adopt the "if it's not broken, don't fix it" ...

Or go ahead and disavow and sink back into Penguin desert?

Okay, so you DID receive a warning from Google? Did you follow the advice in the other thread?

Because half of my webistes and half the world wide web was toast by Penguin for that exact reason...

They are high quality sites withe relevant anchor text, that gets you penalized...

But anyways, back to the original question:

I can't see that sort of boost lasting. Sooner or later it's going to all come crashing down like a house of cards. It might be best to disavow them now, or you could just wait and see what happens.

Disavow if the keywords are not helping then show you are doing something about it before you get whacked as i don't think it will help too much if you do it after.
