Have access to excessive anchor text... should I change it?

I have access to all my article marketing accounts.

So if I want to I can go in there and fix all exessive anchor text.

Is this a good strategy? Might it make my penguin affect sites go back up?

Will it trigger a red flag to Google and reinforce their penalty because changing the anchor text would mean admission of "guilt"?

Acutally I did fix a few of them and my rankings didn't tank but it's slower...

So better not to touch them all all?

The next day? Then it surely is not due to removals because google needs some time to realize them.


@Oimachi2: As you are already penalized I don't think Google will do it twice - just because you try to correct a mistake and basically doing the "right". Matt Cutts recommends deleting before disavowing.

Google has already recognized you as a Spammer, so the removal sholud not hurt you.
If it is the same with CHANGING the anchors... I don't know. May depend on the number. May be a good idea to change also the text, not only the anchor.
