June 5th 2013 : Unconfirmed Update?

Unconfirmed - But I believe on June 5th 2013 Google adjusted the impact of their Penguin 2.0 algorithm;

Matt Cutts said on Penguin 2.0; "we can adjust the impact but we wanted to start at one level and then we can modify things."

What are your thoughts, how many of you noticed a significant loss of rankings on June 5th/6th?

I did for one of my sites. It was the same site that got this message on May 16th:

"We've detected that some of the links pointing to your site are using techniques outside Google's Webmaster Guidelines.

We don't want to put any trust in links that are unnatural or artificial, and we recommend removing any unnatural links to your site. However, we do realize that some links may be outside of your control. As a result, for this specific incident we are taking very targeted action to reduce trust in the unnatural links. If you are able to remove any of the links, you can submit a reconsideration request, including the actions that you took."

My site did lose about 15-20% of Google traffic starting on Tuesday (the 4th), though I never could figure out where the drop was coming from. It seemed to be either seasonality or a loss of some long tail, as I couldn't find any change in head term rankings.

Traffic continued to be low until mid-day Friday, but things have looked normal for me since then. Traffic today is right on track with last Saturday so far.

We'll see what happens on Monday, since weekends are my low part of the week for my niche.

Have not heard much about the update 5-6 June. One of our 96 indexed pages was moved down during the update 6 June. It was a inner page. Index page and all the other inner page has keept ranking. Before this page got hit it ranked nr 4 for its primary keyword. Then the next day it ranked 15:th place. Two weeks ago 39:th. Now a month later its ranked 88:th.... We are struggling with this one. It just had five outside links to it and we cant understand what has trigged this filter.

Please share your experience with this update. Penguin, panda or a new filter..?
