note the publishing date on the googlewebmastercentral blog post. (<2 hours before this thread was posted)

apparently the Web Studio team doesn't speak to the Search Quality team or the Webmaster Tools team.
or perhaps the other teams haven't updated their documents to reflect current technology.

All I can say is: it's about asuilaak time* they acknowledged the "lang" attribute. I've been adding it bit by bit whenever I happen to edit a page for other reasons, and to ### with whether g reads it or not. That Other Search Engine does-- and in this case they're right.


* Don't bother to look it up. Think "about Pygmalion time".
