Purely specific to on-page SEO, how do SEs treat:

How does Google treat it? I'm sure G's getting smarter. What about other SEs?

This type of "SEO" is something that may have worked for a week on some engines in the 1990s. It's long gone. You'd be doing yourself a big favor by ignoring such "techno loophole" approaches entirely.

Pay more attention to things like content quality and uniqueness, writing style, site organization and crawlability, user-friendliness, site promotion, and the company you keep on the web.
