Google De-clutters Search Results

I have not seen it mentioned yet, so I just wanted to report that SER pages have once again be de-cluttered. I personally never liked the full-page screenshots that Google were displaying and those have been removed. In addition, the cached page link looks similar to what Bing has been doing for quite a while (the down-pointing arrow).

To add, they also seemed to have become a little more conservative when display author photos.

I can't see anything else that has been changed yet.

Thanks for bringing up the topic. According to several webmasters, it's more than author photos that have been more limited. Many Rich Snippets have also vanished.

Heh yea, G seems to be removing stuff that they once told us users loved, because the users loved them so much they didn't use them (related searches, instant previews - which probably interfered with the space devoted to product ads and Knowledge Graph)...

I prefer the instant previews on G SERPS; I like the downArrow on B but not on G because I associate two different "types" of users and habits that come from them.

This makes the link to the cache more visible. Nobody knew it was there the former way.
