Rich snippets disappeared from Google SERP

Hi everyone,

We have an issue with rich snippets gone from Google SERP, asfter researching a while we've changed reviewCount with ratingCount. Now pages seems to be ok in Google testing tool. However no rich snippets appearing for several weeks.

Any ideas? Please advice.

Rich snippets come and go in the serps. You can even have rich snippets show for a page for certain keywords but not for others. I also find pages rich snippets that are updated often do not really make any difference.

JesterMagic, how frequently was this happening to your site? I think rich snippets should reappear within 2-3 weeks (still not appearing).

Probably nothing to do with your site at all. Are you Rich Snippets on products? Is you site Review only or also eCommerce?

My impression is that Google are holding back on Retailer Product Rich Snippets to give their Google Shopping more share of the SERP.

I find breadcrumb rich snippets once discovered seem to stay.

Review rich snippets for the most part seem to stay as well.

Review aggregate and author rich snippets seem to appear and disappear a lot though (like one month there and the next month gone, repeat). These are pages that are usually linked more to (both externally and internally) using different link text so I have wondered if that every plays into it.

I have one site that has been in the rich snippets program since the beginning while another which was very similar never got picked up, despite perfect results in the Rich Snippets Testing Tool.

I decided one day to just redo the entire structure of the code and within a day, rich snippets were showing in the SERPs. Both versions were perfectly structured.

I believe one thing than may have affected it was placing data within divs instead of spans. Who knows though.
