Does google.com referral count include Google image referrals?

My site has always done really well in google images, ever since the new rollout happened my traffic from google.com / referral tanked. I have heard Google say that they break images out and I see that but I was wondering if images would get thrown into google.com / referral as well cause I can't see any other reason why it would drop unless I am looking at something wrong.

Any help would be great!

I can't answer this question without knowing the context of where you are getting this number. Is this in Google Webmaster Tools? In Google Analytics? In some other web stats?

If you go to "Traffic Sources" -> "Sources" -> "Search" -> "Organic" you can then click on the "Primary Dimension" called "Source". I have both Google and images.google listed there. You should be able to click on each to see separate graphs.
