Best action with bought competitor sites

Hello

I just bought several competitor sites with higher PR. They were competitors in content however my monetization was different(value added services -VAS).
My site was ranking well for Croatia but other sites are good in Serbia and Bosnia where I'm currently expanding.
I was planning to establish a network of sites with similar topics but I'm not sure how G will look on that because part of content will be overlapping.
For ex. three sites will be with topics A,B and C and other would include all of those. However sites A,B and C would have different VAS. I'm also planning to move everything on one server. How safe is to redirect some of the sites permanently?
I would appreciate any thoughts

When targeting another country it can help to have the website hosted in that country. Of course this does make it harder to handle site maintenance. Most of the time I prefer not to move the sites together.

I assume these three sites are in different languages. I know many people in that area speak multiple languages but I would wonder how much value there is to interlink them since the Serbian speaking consumer would probably prefer content in the Serbian language.

I would also look at the backlink profile for each website. Are they really different and valuable? I would not be too concerned with Pagerank. I would be more concerned with unique domains that are driving referrals to each of the websites.

Thanks for your reply goodroi. Actually Serbian sites are hosted in Germany. It is strange that in today's clouded world that may have such impact. Would that means that i should not add those sites to webmastertools and analytics?. As language concerned i have good reasons to believe that G treat HR/SR/BIH languages as one or very similar(except Cyrillic) when it came to usefulness. Backlinks are somewhat valuable and there is good traffic and even some adsense profit. I think i will go with moving sites anyway. Less work and if traffic drop i will go with adwords.

Not a good idea.

If all of your sites are quality and about different subjects then there should be no problem with having them on same Server. Lots of people do this.

However, if they are all about the same topic (as in your case) then I would not be surprised to see Google having a problem with it.

My impression is that Google tend to pick only one site from one Server for identical content.

I wouldn't merge the sites. It's a risk.
+ Let them play at their own local location/servers.

Well if the sites are on the same server, but have different IP-s, then it's OK.

For best results make sure the sites are hosted in the country you are targeting. If that is not an option consider embracing the cloud.

why do you say having differnt IP's but on the same server is ok, but with the same IP it isn't ok? ... that doesn't make sense to me
