I'm seeing our old zombie traffic since the end of the year. So we'll have a slow week, then like clockwork things will be back to normal next week or so.

I'm seeing quite dramatic changes in SERPs today, I suspect quite a major update of some sort is crunching... too early to tell if it's Panda.

I'm seeing some changes in my SERPs nothing major though but seemingly in the right direction. It's difficult to tell as what you see one time you may not see the next.

I've checked dozens of keyterms on around 20 sites today. Seen a major ranking downgrade on 1 site and not much else. Could be panda, in a way I hope it is, easiest to fix

I'm seeing quite dramatic changes in SERPs today,
Me too and definitely not for the better for my Coppermine gallery again. I've stopped uploading images to it since, for whatever reason, Google's no longer returing them in the SERPs.
I have absolutely no intention of reconstructing this site on another CMS therefore I'll just leave it and see if it dies! That's quite unbelievable considering the thousands of unique images it has ... well done Google, that doesn't go very far into either organising the world's information nor being a knowledge engine for my widgets which are used on every continent!

I don't think some of the ranking drops on some of my sites are penalty related, I think it is more a de-indexing of content from other sources which had backlinks pointing to my website. Remove the article from the index and the backlink becomes obsolete, resulting in a ranking drop.
I do a lot of article marketing and noticed significant drops in rank of about 30-40% of my keywords, although not completely disastrous as my quality backlinks are keeping my website ticking over. Time to find more quality backlinks I think.
I could be wrong though (I have been before).

Can you also see the rankings disappearing and coming back again on some keywords that you are all monitoring?

Keyword traffic for two well-linked pages are down quite a bit since this morning. Those two pages have always been the ones that get linked to by educational sources. Teachers use them in their material and one of the pages have been mentioned in educational books.
Those two pages have lost traffic today and also Dec 21.
I'm guessing this is a panda update.
Nothing seems to break the site out of the panda monster. After being down since early 2011, the site finally had gains in August, September, October, November and then WAM! December comes along and smacks it down and again a smack down today. It's still not as low as it was back in July 2012, but it's pretty close since the summer is when kids are off school so there is a lot less traffic. I'd hate to see what type of traffic numbers this site gets when kids are out of school in the summer if things don't turn around quickly.
Site is over 8 years old and it feels like it's only 6 months old now. Eight years worth of quality links gone, it feels like.

My Penguin hit site has seen an improvement in some of its SERPs. I don't think the update is Penguin though. I don't know what's going on - it may just be flux to all settle back after the update is done.
Is anyone else seeing Penguin improvements? Mine may just be moving up due to others moving down.

I am now pretty confident this is a Panda update (UK).
I awoke this morning to quite different results, indicative of how I would expect sites to progress following a Panda update.
What I'm not sure about is whether or not it's finished....

Pretty significant changes in the areas we hang out in -
Fair amount of sites were not familiar with jumped right up into prime time.
Lots and lots of multiple entries (3, 4, seen a few 5's) for same site.
All in all pretty big changes, bit of a different look to it all actually.

My surge forward is dropping back again. It didn't surge forward enough to make a difference on my penguin site so I don't really care but I supect a loosening of filters before re applying them pretty much where they were.

What definition of the word "update" is suiting them these days?

In my humble opinion I would say announcement on successful completion of an update.
It would be unwise to announce each update as it started in case of failure, as would make them look bad.
Something is definitely crunching...
