I got this message in my account on Christmas eve. Obviously I know there is a traffic drop during this time of the year as everyone is with their families but should I be worried about the message, does it mean I am doing anything wrong?
Did you get the message on Christmas eve, or did you get it today? I received a message a few days after thanksgiving for one of my top urls for a traffic decrease. I could tell by looking at my analytics and GWT that it corresponded with the holiday.
With the way Xmas and New Years fell during the week this year, I am not planning on seeing our traffic jump back to normal until the 2nd or 3rd of January.
I received it today which is why i thought that was strange. I can see I was effected by the panda refresh on the 21st so im sure this plus the holidays helped with that, but I still thought it was interesting that they sent out a message for it.
I got the same message a day earlier, however I had a valid reason - my hosting company recently moved my server and changed all my IP's, then I had done a trial of a CDN that require a nameserver change, I wasn't thrilled then switched back, so another nameserver change - 3 in one month, so Google spanked me hard! Traffic came back up on the 26th, but historically, that is expected in my niche.
