Switching FF user agent to Googlebot results in pages that load 99%?

I've been testing my htaccess using a user agent override addon for firefox and noticed that whenever I visit a page it will appear to be fully loaded but the browser is stuck at 99% and continues trying to load.

I switched to a 2nd and 3rd addon and whenever I declare my user agent to be googlebot the page will never finish loading completely. It looks done... but it's not, the favicon won't load.

This isn't just on my site, it applies to any site I visit. Is it my browser? The user agent switching? Or are sites harder to load for Googlebot?

I don't have the time to figure out exactly why declaring yourself to be Googlebot would stop a page from completing, or if it's just my computer, has anyone else noticed this?

You've got the conventional block on anyone with a blank UA. That wipes out the faviconbot unlesss you've made a special exception for them.
