Google is indexing some of our pages with the interstitial ad instead of the real content.

Any good resource to implement this properly nowadays without hurting SEO?

Thanks!

Besides worrying about how the technical implementation can impact SEO, I would also worry about the ads can impact usage signals which can lead to other SEO issues.

A bad ad can drive people away from your site. Google generally tries hard not to send traffic to sites that users do not like. I would not feel comfortable if my ad doubled the number of Google visitors that bounced from my page and immediately went back to the Google serps.

Yeah it's true what you say but that is not in my hand.. so at least for now what I need to do is block it somehow for search engines.

We are using Google DFP to serve it so not sure how to do it. Any ideas?
