As many of you know, google over the summer added an associate featured that let you link offsite properties with the main website. I think youtube is the only option now...but presumably social media and other resources can be linked in the future.

Anybody know if there is a SEO benfit to this? So if my site is associated with my youtube channel, do I get more credit for having a quality site in the SERP's? I don't get punished for duplicating/embedding my own youtube movies?
Has anybody tried this and noticed a difference in the rankings?
