Reconsideration request - how fast does a no manual action msg arrive?

Hi,

I wonder how long does it take to receive a message that there is no manual action against your site when you send a reconsideration request to Google. I'm asking because according to recent video by Matt Cutts, he says that these messages are automated.

12 days in my case. So obviously the delay is faked...

About a week, these messages are automated PMSL - could you please post the video url, we should reply with automated reinclusion requests.

IF you have a good reason to: send a second request within a short period of time after the original request and you will find a real person on the other end. Now they may very well resend the automated message but Google keeps track of such things and will look into it if the automated message is ignored, or at least they have in some cases.

I know this because someone in another forum ignored the first automated message and sent a second follow up that did get a reply even though there was no manual penalty.

My suggestion: don't abuse this, Google needs to scale their responses and giving boilerplate to a first request if there is no manual penalty makes sense. If everyone starts sending a 2nd and 3rd attempt Google would need to step up their measures and make it harder for all.

This could also have been just chance, I wouldn't be willing to continually harass them to find out and I don't suggest you make it habit either.

Well the thing is that I didn't received any message about unnatural links or similar but my site is hit hard by Penguin and I see no signs of recovery after all the recommended clean up of links so I want to check if I have a manual action against my site.

Blackpixel...if you don't have any notifications in WMT... reconsideration probably won't do anything. Cutts says 99.9% of all manually penalized sites have notifications. If you have a algorithmic penalty, then the spam team won't touch your site (unless you are wpmu).

Our site was hit by penguin...we scrubbed our profile and did a reconsideration...and we got an automated message stating that we didn't have a manual penalty so there was nothing they could do.

On the flip side, one of our sites was hit by a virus, we got flagged...did a reconsideration request and in a week that got unpenalized after a human review. The difference was that our virus hit site explicitly stated in WMT that it had been flagged by google and that we had to do clean it up and do a reconsideration request to lose our virus flag.
