-750 Penalty then removed following day

My site got bunked to position -750 then 24 hours or so later its position 17?

Does anyone have any idea what could of caused this?

It's typically behaviour you will see if you make any significant changes to your site, or if your site is new. When new it might gain high placing for a week or so as it's introduced into the competing environment. If it's due to changes then your site has to be reanalyzed to determine if it should be moved up or down in SERPs in relation to the other 999.

I'll stick my neck out here and suggest it may be a tail-call, tail-recursive effect. But, I'm not an advanced programmer so maybe one of the advanced programmer members here can shoot that theory down if it doesn't match the behaviour that type of function would exhibit (it's ok guys I have my parachute on this time, fire away). It's more of a guess based on observing those types of situations rather than anything based on experience with it.
