I appreciate the fact that the new, merged tool is mobile friendly:

Interesting that there are areas of research that tap into this Google data - outbreaks of various diseases and predicting consumer buying habits, just to name two.

Darn! Was working on a blog post about using "Insights" for Local keyword research and had all my screen shots done in the OLD one. Now have to start over.
What I liked before is that you could GEO locate your search. So for instance if you compared "Personal Injury Attorney" and "Personal Injury Lawyer" and set your location to LA, you’d see the former gets more searches. BUT if you set location to New York, you'd see that more people there search for "Personal Injury Lawyer".
At 1st I could not get the LOCAL results I wanted. Took me a few tries to figure out cuz the UI is so subtle but I was finally able to do it. Just doesn't display the GEO info as clearly as it did before.
