Exclude currency symbol from Google snippet?

I have an ecommerce store based on Magento. I have meta descriptions and keywords for all pages.

The problem is that in Google many of the snippets only show a little piece of the meta description and then it shows a couple of products from that page.

My site automatically sets the currency depending on the users location so when it shows the products in the snippets the currency is always USD as I guess google crawls it from the US and hence sees the prices in USD.

As most of my sales are to the UK I think it puts people off when they see the USD currency symbol in the SERP's.

Can I specify what to show in the snippet more accurately? Or not show the currency symbol somehow?

When Google generates part of the snippet from the page copy instead of the meta description, things are a lot harder to control. Would it make sense to include a list of currencies accepted (even just the symbols) somewhere in either the meta description or the part of the page they are currently excerpting?

I think putting the change both areas might make the most sense, because Google's snippet generation algorithm has some logic for using part of the page copy in your case. Just changing the description might not do it.
