Hi, I am wanting to know what is the youngest site that was definitely hit by Penguin - have any less than 1 year old sites been hit?

So a definite hammering on the 24thApril, knocked right off the front page, now on page 5-10, and no recovery as of yet.

Any inputs?

I have a 3 month old site that was hit in the May refresh. At the end of April a press release was done for the site and it included targeted anchor text for the homepage. That would have been fine itself, but the release was popular and several sites picked it up. Two sites in particular have weird issues with their URLs ..which resulted in about 4,000 pages with the URL from them alone from just that one release.

It doesn't matter how old your spaceship is, Google will do a pre-flight systems check and the fewer issues the better. There are many layers of quality checking, including a very important human evaluation(or 10), so improve quality everywhere possible.

Some of my youngest sites <1 year were not hit by Panda/Penguin whilst the older ones were - I suspect that they did not have enough data on these sites to evaluate them for penguin/panda.
