Save your search settings to your account - not your cookies

Google announced today [goo.gl ] that any choices you make in your profile’s search settings will now be saved to your account, traveling with you to any logged-in web browser.

I assume there are many people who would appreciate this. I spend a lot of energy making sure I'm NOT logged in (getting personalized results) so this feature doesn't hold much for me.

I dunno, for years I can't seem to to convince Google to save the setting that opens a search result in a new window (I have to set it over and over and over again every few weeks) so pardon me for being skeptical on this one.

Wake me up when you can set them via url parameters without being logged in or accepting cookies.
