Text Link and Google advice

I am currently reading google advice on designing a website and they say the following :

"Ensure more convenience for users by using ‘breadcrumb lists."

and then they say the following

"Make it as easy as possible for users to go from general content to the more specific content they want on your site. Add navigation pages when it makes sense and effectively work these into your internal link structure."

and finally they say that :

"Controlling most of the navigation from page to page on your site through text links makes it easier for search engines to crawl and understand your site. Many users also prefer this over other approaches"

My Question :

Do they mean that in addition to breadcrumbs I should have text link going from page to page ( for better user experience ) or are breadcrumbs considered text link already ?

Thank you,

When they say text links in your quotes, they meant text links againt links created in other formats, such as image links, JavaScript links etc.

So yes, breadcrumb lists are already considered text links.
