I have 2 set of sites with similar content excluding the product pricing and contact us pages for US and UK domains
http
://www.mysite.com
http
://www.mysite.co.uk
I am trying to setup: <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en-gb" href="http://www.mysite.co.uk" />
on www.mysite.com page level, not site level, for each set of pages, including the home page, as appropriate.
We use a common code base for all HTML files. We do not have a separate UK set of HTML files. So the "link alternative" codes for each page will work equally with the US and UK deployments.
My question is: Having <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en-gb" href="http
://www.mysite.co.uk" /> on http
://www.mysite.co.uk bad for SEO?
OR
Are there any ways to do this only on US domain and not UK?
Thanks,
Truepost
