Rich snippet testing tool - confusing comments

I have a website that promotes products, and I've recently added microdata to my product pages.
When I tested it with the Rich Snippet Testing Tool, I saw something that was unclear. At the top of the report it said:

"The following errors were found during preview generation:

This page does not contain authorship or rich snippet markup."

However, at the bottom of the report there was a section "Extracted rich snippet data from the page", where I could clearly see the data I marked - image,description and price (although there was another strange comment - "Warning: In order to generate a preview, either price or review or availability needs to be present").

Anyway, the testing tool didn't display any preview. Is there something I'm missing here? Is there any special registration required to see the preview?

No, there's no registration.

The authorship microdata is what links you to a Google profile - it's supposed to be a way to proving you are who you say you are. There is also publisher markup.

It sounds like you have partially implemented it, but not entirely. Unfortunately, I can't drop links here, but there are tools out there that will help you generate your microdata (hint - Raven Tools has a free one) and Yoast has a pretty good guide to adding author and/or publisher markup, if you decide to do that too.
