Adding an adult section to an online magazine

Need an advice, may be you guys can help me.

I've got a project of adding an adult section to what has been until now a family-friendly online magazine. The adult section is quite "soft". It is not really a #*$!, but explicit language is likely to be used in it.

I am concerned that adding this section will cause Google to mark the entire domain as "adult", and penalize the current rankings for keywords that have nothing to do with the adult section.

Are my fears founded? Would it help to "noindex" the adult section? Let me know what you think.

If you look at the Google Search Settings, there is an option for Quote: "How much explicit sexual content (web pages, images, and videos) should SafeSearch filter from your results?

I don't know what the default setting is, but it's possible that your site could be filtered out of a large number of searches.

I'd put it on a subdomain.
