When i performed this site:domain.com i got around 1,50,000 results and when i did site:domain.com/forums/ the pages increased to 5,16,000.

Can anyone please brief it.

I see that from time to time.

The counts are estimates, and for whatever reason sometimes they are miles off.

Click through to page 2 and the number will likely be a lot less.

Add the &filter=0 parameter and the number often changes again, and is usually more accurate.

The same thing can happen if you search for word1 + word2 and get several lakhs* of hits. So you try to narrow it down with word1 + word2 + word3 and Wham! Suddenly your hits jump up into the crores.

* The Bombay newspapers now like to spell it "lacs". This confuses me, because how much lacquer is there in the world?
