Some weird stuff happened around the 12th / 16th February that stopped SERP tools from working.

For example, some iPhone tools stopped gathering results.

Does anyone know exactly what happened here and if possible provide an official source. I have scoured google but cannot find anything concrete.

Many thanks,

I know <snip> totally stopped working in mid-Jan. because Google cutoff API for them. It might be related to that. All I have to rely on know is GWT which really isn't the most accurate for me.

I don't know if this is related to the conversation, but I use a fairly common SEO service and they sent out some emails saying that there SERP tracking results were having problems the last couple of weeks.

They seemed to imply their SERP results were actually from a third party, so I don't know what to say about that.

Pjman is right, Google made some changes with the API during that time so majority of SERP tool has stopped working.
