Optimizing a page for multiple keywords

Has anyone ever managed to optimize a single page for multiple keywords

Ex : Lets say my main keyword I want to optimize a page for is
"Great Greeen widgets" and I want to also optimize is for "Great Widgets." to rank on both keywords.

Is that possible and can anyone explain how to do this ?

I have lots of pages on my sites that rank number 1 in Google for multiple keywords and key phrases. These are in niche areas, so they aren't highly competitive, but it at least proves that Google allows it. You just need to create pages that have a lot of information covering the various aspects of the subject.
