Redirecting Pandalized Site to a Good Domain

I have a website about Red Widgets that was hit by Panda a couple months ago.

I also have a website about just Widgets that I have been working on.

I noindexed the entire Red Widgets website so I could put the content on the just Widgets website. The content will be published on the 1st of Jan.

Will it hurt if I redirect the pandalized domain to the sub folder of the main website?

I was thinking about doing this since all of the pages of the pandalized website haven't been removed from the index as of yet and there are some decent links pointing to the pandalized site....

You might get a few good weeks out of the new location - until Panda runs again, that is. Then, unless you have resolved the root issue that Panda was demoting, it's very likely that using the same content will attract the same treatment.

I believe it was due to:

1. The articles just "talked" about what the end user really wanted and never provided it (coupons). So visitors would visit the site and then immediately return to Google.
2. All the articles are cookie cutter articles.

The articles will be the same but I will actually be offering the end user what they want.

The articles will also be placed on a much larger website which will help with all the articles looking exactly the same.

Now, should I just let the domain noindex it's way out of Google or should I redirect that domain? Can any harm or good come from either?

Just my two cents here...

Forget the articles.

Just have a website that delivers the coupons people want. Whenever I search for coupons, the only sites I see are junk.

If you can give them a site with the coupons they are actually searching for, then you will get plenty of traffic, in my humble opinion.
