"Why these ads" label in the adwords at top of serp.

I noticed today that there is a link at the top of the serp next to the ads which says "why these ads".

I think this is fairly new - but I have only just gone into it.

I clicked the link and followed onto a page whereby I could "opt out" of ads (I assumed that this meant that my serp would come clean again and all the ads would go).

I opted out on google.co.uk and google.com

I search - but both serps show ads still.

I want to opt out of google ads - but it doesnt seem to be working.

Anyone else?

From the Google blog post about the new feature:

You can also go to the Ads Preferences Manager to make changes that improve the ads that you're seeing, including blocking specific advertisers you're not interested in or turning off ads personalization entirely (of course, you can change your mind at any time). [My emphasis]

I wonder if I block someone's ads, does this worsen their quality score or not?

I posted about this before, [webmasterworld.com...] apparently no one was interested, it is also on Gmail ads..
