SiteLinks - maybe today

All,

A few months ago I kept crying about my site not being number 1 - basically beaten by a spammer (a link spammer) with 2 or 3 of his own sites above me for the same phrase.

Anyway - I worked on some stuff - got to number 1 (only to be shunted down by adwords and losing all my business anyways) but......

There is a little SEO success in here I guess (not that its worth anything in $ terms) - Ive now (very very recently - maybe today) got sitelinks showing for my site.

Noone for these keywords has ever had this before - so this is quite something to glee about I think.

So in terms of the sale - the site is dead - shafted by adwords - but - do I now have a "nice" little site with trust which I can link out from to pass some google love to my other sites?

Thanks
Fewkes.

I want to re-design the site now though - from really old html to a dreamweaver template.

If I keep all the text and most of the images (names, alt etc) the same - will I be OK ranking wise?

It depends what will you do with site taxonomy, navigational structure and interlinking. If this also stays the same (or very similar), you have more chance for your rankings to hold. If you plan changes in this area then you may end up better or worse or the same.

All the site structure (number of pages, anchors, navigation) will remain the same. Mainly - there will be small additional graphics dotted around and lots more code. The graphics will be be snazzy things like buttons and borders. Thanks aakk9999 - this is what I hoped.
