Local results seem to favour keyword-keyword domains?

I just noticed this evening that the local results which are placed above the organic SERPs seem to GREATLY favour keyword or keyword-keyword domains.

Right now I see widgets-widget.com as the #1 result, but I have the better keyword-keywords.com domain (currently parked).

Is it really a no-brainer? Are the results the same for you guys in your industries?

Not noticed hyphenated versions ranking any better than non-hyphenated versions in my sector but in general yes, I'd agree, keywords seem beneficial in local. Just not sure they are that much more beneficial than in general search results though and I am a firm believer that keyword domains simply benefit from better related anchor text in links.

One further observation though - just an aside: my experiences convinced me that domains previously parked as PPC vehicles are much harder to rank once they are put to proper use.

I specialize in local now and what I've noticed is that MOST on-site factors are magnified and really help in local.

And yes I agree city-keyword.com domains are a big plus. Do some local searches in #*$! to strip out local and ads and have keywords highlighted and it's easier to notice.
