Transferred site disappearing from SERPS for couple hours

hello, I just noticed on my new domain (recently purchased; should be under my name within a few hours) that the site frequently disappears on the SERPS for a very popular term.

It keeps reappearing after a couple hours. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the cookies installed on my laptop or something else. This has been going on since yesterday!

I contacted the seller and he mentioned that it may be because the registrar and nameserver has changed and that I shouldn't worry cause it will correct itself within a few days.

This is the 3rd time I noticed this since morning.

Any ideas on what is going on?

Have you checked your traffic stats? Hopefully this is isolated to you via some personalized serp issue. Worst case you are losing traffic and that means the site is fluxing in and out of the serps.

When transferring a domain it can take some time for the new domain information to get around to all the servers in the world. If the person who sold you the site immediately deleted the site from the old hosting before all the servers in the world are updated it might create a problem.
