Did we see another Panda interation Sept 16-18 or so?

I'm hearing some reports of site-wide ranking demotions over the weekend that have a similar pattern to what we saw with Panda. That is, lots of keywords affected, but the demotions are not at all uniform the way we often see in a site-wide penalty.

Has anyone else seen something like this recently? How about (we can hope) any improvement in rankings for a previously Pandalized site?

Hard to tell yet, because most of my client sites are B2B and weekends are natural dips.

However, I did notice a sharp increase on a couple of my seasonal sites (not pandalized but out of season) and I wonder if someone up ahead of me got knocked out.

One of my sites (which gained traffic with each Panda update) sees a dip in traffic on weekends, so it's difficult to tell. I don't see any major changes in traffic, compared to other weekends (and today, compared to other Mondays).

Didn't see anything on the weekend, but I do have an update on my site that recovered from Panda last month and is now running a little ahead year-on-year. What surprised me, vs earlier "recovery" stories I'd seen, is it wasn't an all-at-once change, like the original penalty. One decent bump on Aug 6th, but after that, it mainly took place in daily advances over the following month, though it stalled for a week mid-August.

Since I saw no change on our larger pandalized site, my guess is that the small site (500 to 600 a day from Google) just made the Panda cut, but somehow it's "goodness" was reinforced each day. And while the year-on-year key phrases changed radically in some cases, the basic traffic distribution to the pages remained about the same.

I will know better tomorrow but based on our weekend traffic and an hourly comparison for today over last monday we are up 10-15% on our sites - they were all pandalized over the course of a few months - not all at the same time - some sites are showing larger recoveries over the past few weeks, others still suffering and a couple others remain untouched.

I'm seeing a "recovery" too, but I'm concerned that this is just the surge before the big Panda drop. I noticed a dip on Saturday but improved numbers yesterday and today.

I see different keywords too, but I think it's the 'Panda's coming' signal. My non-Pandalized (one alone is Pandalized) sites are doing even better than normal.

One of my client's website in Netherlands have jumped from page 2 to page 1 for a car rental keyword, its been stuck on Page 2 for 3 months, so something must have happened

My bounce rate is 10%-15% lower than normal for G search today.

I definitely saw a major rankings shift over several verticals. Only newer sites seem affected.

Sustained dip on sites with a local relevance, beginning on the 17th, maintained through today.

Sustained 40-50% increase on niche-info type sites, started on the 13th, maintained through today. (on sites I watch, this generic site action/reaction is typical within 4-10 days after a large googlebot crawl)

Nothing here in the UK that I can see. However lost some more traffic in mid-August. Seems to a pattern over the last few months, get hit, slow recovery, then get hit again. Normally preceeded by a larger than normal googlebot crawl. In our WMT after each hit the number of impressions per day always becomes a straight line - if that data can be believed of course.

I definitely saw a 20% gain on my major Pandalized site. They are all new long tails though, my major words are still biting the big one.

There did seem to be some demotions going on with commerce sites starting Saturday. To early to say because it can swing back in 2-5 days. I'm going to assume most of your clientele is engaged in direct commerce.

I have noticed a slight drop in traffic this weekend (-3%) to my main site while 2 others have lifted off lately.
It is hard to tell now if there was a trend or any algo update involved. Wouldn’t surprise to realize it was any kind of ‘iteration’ as Matt calls it.

The pattern of updates has been an intense crawl followed by a delay followed by ranking changes.

I am pretty confident that the major crawl has happened. Was doing some test searches and the vast majority of cache dates on my pages are between 12-15 Sept.

Has this fed through to rankings? Hmmm, not sure. Not seeing much movement.

Seeing big changes on long tail searches... perhaps sites which were hit by panda have risen. What I do know is the results have changed dramatically if you're drilling down with many keywords...

We've certainly seen a jump in Google traffic over the last 48 hours, we just broke our all time record so we must be doing something right. Our traffic as been slowly going up over the last 6 months, no blips on the radar.

Last night I had a record on my non-Panda sites, 10%-20% more. Hard to tell if it was a movement on my one Pandalized site, other than better keywords (that usually happens before Panda ). The number of referrals I get from Google is on par with Yahoo now so it's hard to tell of any increases.

When panda ran I usually got more traffic for my non-Panda, and I think it's because some other sites got mauled by Panda. Yesterday i also got a major, major crawl.

Reassuring post hearing some levels of recovery. Does this mean there are certain stages of panda, or it just takes a few iterations for a full recovery? Or do some of u have full recoveries too?

I have also been hit by Panda but mostly lost english speaking visits, like USA, Canada..... Is there something I can do in such a situation.
Site is in english, on US server, is marked for usa on google tools.

fully panda recovery for me on the 16th. Higher in the SERPS than before with almost all keywords.

Interesting that we haven't heard of the reverse, where people lost traffic. Is this "reverse Panda" if all we're hearing about now is either an increase or same level traffic? I'm seeing increases in both Panda and non-Panda affected sites I have.

Yes I did. Got google bowled 4 months ago with a bunch of unauthorized crap links---huge spike. Was hit with the june 16th panda. Went though all new links and requested from webmaster removal and documented. Had professional advice on top of that. deleted a bunch of incomplete pages, added useful content. Added videos. addressed any 404s. Filed reconsideration request outlining all of this.

That may explain why the traffic to one of our sites doubled on Friday, we haven't made any changes to it for a long time.
