Hello.

I am working on a websites that beside many pages of content (over 500 words each page), also has a subdomain that hosts a tool for GPS enthusiasts. There they can select up to 5 different GPS receivers and the tool generates a comparison chart for the 5 receivers. The page from where the comparison starts only has the names of all the receivers in the database and a little intro.

Starting with July 27, the traffic for that page began dropping. Unique visits have dropped with almost 70%. What do you think Google Panda penalized this page for? Lack of content?

Thank you

When traffic from Google falls, the reason usually isn't announced. As a result, the webmaster usually doesn't know what specific actions to take. In that situation, I think the best course is just to do eveything you can to improve the page.

Welcome to the forums, cosminlupu.

Panda ran on July 23, so July 27 doesn't line up. Sounds like some other algorithm change or even a penalty.

Do you mean Google search traffic dropped a bit, then some more and then some more? Or did it just fall off the cliff in one nasty step?

This is what I was planning to do. I just thought that Google may have some special rules when dealing with tools for its users and not content.

There was a 4 day traffic drop and only after the traffic starting getting constant.

If you set up a Google Webmaster Tools account for the site, and then study all the information in it very carefully, it's possible that you might find a clue to the problem.
