Google to Acquire Motorola Mobility [investor.google.com] which means potentially a HUGE change to search as we move deeper into the realms of mobile search.

The acquisition itself is being discussed here: Google acquires Motorola Mobility for $12.5bn [webmasterworld.com] - so let's look at what it could mean for search results.

Propools, I'm curious as to what you are thinking? How might a hardware acquisition like this affect search itself? I'm coming up blank, except possibly for added speed.

Well, when I read
"Motorola Mobility's total commitment to Android has created a natural fit for our two companies," said Larry Page, Google's chief executive.

it really starts the wheels spinning to the possible future of mobile search. Especially when mobile is not just a cell phone anymore. ;)
