I just saw a FB page suddenly has PR5 and until yesterday it was PR0. how is that possible?

This has been a most unusual PR export. The toolbar data started getting updated several weeks ago, but it keeps getting tweaked. I'm not sure what to make of it so far.

Yes, this is very odd. The page I refer to is not popular at all and it does not have backlinks but suddenly it gets a PR5! It does not make any sense! Another site similar to mine sells backlinks on their homepage and instead of PR decrease they did get PR increase.

Long ago it'd 'guess' a pages PR via a combination of folder depth and home page PR. If the page was 5 folders deep then it'd make sense.
I'm not sure if that toolbar behaviour ever stopped.
