Link and page churn - post Panda

A section of my site shows content which is only valid for 2-4 months before being obsolete, at which point I return a 410 gone header. This also creates a category page with a lot of turnover in links leading to my internal pages. The pages do get indexed well but I'm wondering about the possibility that I'm racking up a higher and higher 'link/page churn' value if Google is measuring such a thing.

Is link churn more of a problem post Panda? Perhaps someone with a bigger site that has this issue can share their experience?

Is there anything I can do to minimize the possible risks of such a section of your site? I'm reminded that eBay has massive churn and yet now ranks top 5 for seemingly everything from their static pages but my site isn't that big... ideas?

I work with a couple big sites, one of which has similar link churn - possibly even more frequent. I don't see any concern from the situation. Besides, what can you do if the content really does change like that for you? That's just the way it is.
