any news on Panda update, I know a lot of us are still stuck and haven't seen any real movement in serps even with changes made to sites.

Have we seen a roll back yet?
Is Panda update done?
Is it time to dump the sites and just let them flow on the net and make new once.?

Yesterday between 7am - 2pm we saw between a 15% - 65% increase in traffic. Overall for the day we saw an increase of traffic of about 18%. Google traffic up 20%.

Monday-Tuesday was not bad, well, compared to what it used to be it is a disaster but everything is relative, right, but today is just rediculous.

After google update his page on 4th august 2011 and also change serp, my site traffic going down and down and down. I lost 80% of my traffic after this update. Please google stop cosmatic change in serp and stop updating page rank again and again and again.

I've noticed some websites that were originally 6-8th rank are now appearing 2nd or 3rd. In my niche particularly, a website that was originally 5th, and had depreciated to 8th place suddenly took a rise to 2nd for various key terms. I have seen similar results in other niches too.

In our niche I'm just so tired of seeing Amazon affiliate pages ranking for products as well as data driven sites that are keyword stuffed.

How may times can you have the keywords on the page before Google says, hey you're doing something wrong. 10-20.... hummm how about 40-50, would that be enough, because one ranking second has just over 40, title and page description are all machine generated.

In my niche i submit 250 directories on daily basis but after 4th august update my main keyword down from 1 to 7th position, and not get any more traffic from google search.

I have a question about seo for all members ,if i submit 600 directories per day for improving my nichi keyword , is it write seo tactics or is it black hat tactics.?

It is mostly just a waste of your time. And if some of those "directories" require a backlink from you, you might end up linking to a "bad neighborhood."

ScienceArticles, I really question how youre able to submit to 600 per day. They take about 2 minutes each. That would be 20 hrs solid work!

As tedster said, google has seen every seo technique a million times before and the directory technique has been dead for years... It might help you get to page 3-5 on google, you'll require real work for first page rankings that you desire.

Dear xshadow, my working speed is maximum15 to 20 second per directory submission. I think your typing speed and mouse controlling speed is too slow man , 2 mintus for one directory submission, oh maan its tooo slow.

Rankings and traffic come from much more than links - and especially much more than links that the webmaster can control on his own power. I agree, it's impossible to understand how and why Google is ranking pages these days. One thing is sure, you don't need good quality content to rank well. There must be other factors that are more important.

I am at this moment looking at the serps for a 4 words search phrase that returns 9 million results. The first place is taken by a Wordpress blog with the 4 word phrase as Meta Title Tag and H2 page title. Below the page title it has the 4 word phrase again. Then a 336x250 Adsense ad, then a dead link to an image and finally a 300x250 Adsense ad. The content is totally worthless and still Google thinks this is a quality web page.

Conclusion:
You do not need quality content, Adsense is allowed to dominate the content and you can have dead links to images on your page. Other factors will make Google decide that this is a quality page. Which ...?

The reality is that with this algo Google is making its own serps worthless and sooner or later this will backfire. When I do the same search on Bing the crap page I just described is nowhere to be found and the first result in Bing's serps is a good quality page with the content I'm looking for.

What im missing is, that when I make a search that I see more theme related sites and not sites with just a few pages on topic, I would rather see a whole site on topic.

Also I why do I see so often the same site rank 1,2,3, what use is that, I would rather have 2 more different results.

I really dont like like the search results with 20 images in it or 2-3 video results, if i wanted that I would use image search or video.

I am going to stick my chin out and say "SEO for Google is dead." You might figure something out that could help you get to the first place or somewhere on the first page, but it's going to be tough. It seems like Google went to a SEO seminar and read everything about white hat and black hat and every color in between and decided to stop all that. It seems like the only factors could be the Google+, how long people stay on the site and if you "remove this from search results". Directory submissions, like people said, has been dead in the water for years, but maybe it DOES work now again. A loophole in the algo or maybe no other SEO at all on the site?

Seems to me that the Google engineers are so busy patting themselves on the back for banishing article spam from the SERPS that nobody's bothered to look too closely at the pages that are ranking. Plenty, frankly, should be an embarrassment. It's like the hangover from article spam's leaving party!

I agree with gehlrekrona, now a days only directory submissions worked better for seo, and give better results, but only 100 %relevant directories and minimum pr 6 to 9 shown better result for your nishi,, now a days google see the quantity of link not quality link, all seo companies confused about serp trends.

I'm seeing the exact same thing in my niche. The same site gobbles up the top three spots for many keywords. Honestly, it looks like a search engine that was too tired or lazy to come up with a better set of sites for page one results. Where's the diversity?

My website (FR) is under a deep crawl today, lots and lots of queries from google bot (and amongst them, a lot of them that have been noindex/nofollow for more than 1 year, pffff)...

@Lenny2 We saw exactly the same thing - on Thursday our traffic jumped by about 20%. I was pretty excited, thinking we'd partially recovered from Panda, but traffic dropped back down to normal levels on Friday / Saturday / Sunday. I'm beginning to wonder whether Google does some testing pre-Panda rollout, as I'm starting to notice peaks of traffic immediately before various Panda iterations.
