I have a Google plus account through my regular gmail account.
Completely unrelated to that account, I have a business address, myname@mycompany.com. There are no google services tied to this email address.
Recently I've been getting email messages about people that have added me to Google +, using that address. I did not respond or verify these in any way. Now i'm getting spam emails from these users, thru google+.
Such as:
"A**** S****i shared a post with you."
"Want To Drive Traffic to Your.."
This is annoying b/c it's becoming more frequent.
Let me say this up front, I am aware that I have the option of unsubscribing from these updates. It still doesn't change the fact that this is annoying.
The frustrating part is that I NEVER gave this person, or google, permission to begin emailing me his updates. Just b/c he added me to a list/circle, I have to read his crap?
So, just to verify what I'm talking about, I successfully spammed myself.
-I added my biz address to my a new circle using my gmail/g+ account.
-I invited my biz self to Google+.
-My biz self did not respond. (this step may not even be necessary.)
-I went back to my google+ account and posted an update to that circle. When posting the update I find the option to "Also email 2 people not yet using Google+"
Sure enough, the four spammy updates i posted to that circle landed in my biz inbox.
ANNOYING ! Send me your email address and I'll spam you to! :)
