I've spun the ecommerce section of my primary site off to its own domain. I really think it was part of the reason for the Pandalization of the primary site, as the focus of the primary site was not ecommerce.

Now that the ecomm site is on its own, I have to figure out how to promote it. I'll be 301 redirecting already-indexed pages from the original site, and will have the "Online Store" button on the original site link to the new site (no-indexed, of course).

I'm pursuing paid ads for the site (NOT paid links), as well as asking niche forum friends to link to the site in various niche forum posts where appropriate.

I'm going to see if I can't use Twitter and Facebook to some degree or another.

As for links, I'm afraid to do anything, as I don't know how Google is viewing any links right now.

Has anyone else started a new domain since 2/24 and had any experiences that might be relevant?

Thanks for any replies.

After Panda, an e-commerce site needs to have someone who really knows and understands the products, so much so that they can write useful information about each product to facilitate the visitors buying decisions, and offer some unique property that positions your e-commerce site in a different league from your competitors.

Quality over quantity.

When it comes to links.
When it comes to content.
When it comes to social promotion.

Well quantity will increase your traffic, etc, but you can't build proper quantity without quality.
