My domain expired on 7th july. Now would you suggest me to renew the domain name or let it expired.

Since you are asking if you should spend about $5/year on a domain, then it is probably not worth renewing.

ps Don't forget some domain names have value and it might be worth it to renew and sell it to someone.

Also, has anyone ever tried to do a 301 from an old domain to a new domain to see if htye could get out from Panda?

I ask because 1) I have never seen anyone try it yet, so no one knows if it will work or not, and 2) some people have said that they have been able to get out from a manual penalty this was.

I have to ask. Where can you renew a domain name for $5 a year? All the .com domain names I want start at $30 year. But then again, it is probably because I am using Small Mommy as my registrar...

If you mean should you let the domain expire and switch the site to another domain, then it may be OK for a while but then the new domain will probably get pandalised too unless you cut out the bad bits.

Oh, and a .com renewal should cost about $12. If the site makes less than that a year then don't give up your day job <G>

@corepartner
if you are wondering if your site /biz is worth $12-15 (max) that's the case I'm almost certain Panda got that one right :)

I would keep it regardless. If you spent even just 1 year building a brand and a website, why give it away to someone else?

Even under the worse conditions of a fully deindexed site (Which would suggest shady practices) Change ownership info in your registrar and 301 it to an affiliate offer somewhere with your ID embedded.

Just my .02 cents.

I still keep a +5 year old heavily penalized domain, just because I don't want someone else having all the backlinks still out there!
